Saline Symphony Orchestra 2022-2023 Season
In the spring semester, musicians younger than high school age may apply to perform on select pieces with the Saline Symphony Orchesta for the spring concert. This is an excellent opportunity for young musicians to feel what it's like to perform in a large group of experienced musicians. There is no cost involved for the student, but they must have at least two years of playing experience, and must complete an application and submit it with a recommendation from their teacher by February 5, 2023. Private instructors are included in recommendations. Click Here for a PDF application.
The tentative schedule for regular rehearsals for the Spring Semester 2023 are:
April 28th (Dress Rehearsal)
April 29th (Performance)
Interested in Joining the Orchestra?
The Saline Symphony Orchestra does not use a formal audition process; instead, prospective members are invited to join us to sit in rehearsals. Placement within the section will be determined by the section leader, concertmaster, and conductor to maintain the best balance and blend of the group.
We welcome musicians who are returning to their love of music, regardless of age, but students must be in high-school to participate. Our members represent a wide range of experience, and we believe in nurturing the love of music through a variety of support and methods. We do expect prospective members to be proficient enough to play music through a Grade 4 difficulty level. Available seats within sections will be filled based on availability and on an approval basis. We will maintain a sub list when sections are full. We welcome members and prospective members from throughout the Central Arkansas area.
All rehearsals are held at one of the Bryant School District campus band rooms and rehearsal locations will be announced at the beginning of each semester. Currently, the orchestra rehearses in the Bryant Junior High School band room.
We charge an annual fee per musician, currently $40 per season; this helps offset our costs of music and other items. Students are provided seats in the orchestra on a scholarship basis and must be referred by an instructor to be eligible for a scholarship seat.
Current and prospective members can view our Etiquette Statement.
